Plain definitions of the terms used throughout BearBreaker.
- Construct
- A candidate position selected by the Intent Core. Only constructs inside the active universe can be traded.
- Intent Core
- The quantitative scoring layer that shortlists opportunities through macro, fundamental, portfolio, and verification passes.
- TCB
- Trading Custom Cost Basis. A local ledger that records real capital deployed, unit count, and adjusted average cost after contractions.
- Primary signal
- An alignment instruction generated by the Intent Core based on its cost basis versus live value.
- Secondary signal
- An alignment instruction generated by the Trading layer based on the TCB versus live value.
- Midpoint targeting
- The rule that drives a position toward the exact midpoint between cost basis and live value once divergence exceeds a threshold.
- Expansion pulse
- A buy instruction that increases position size, usually when value sits below cost basis.
- Contraction pulse
- A sell instruction that reduces position size, usually when value sits above cost basis.
- Cooldown
- A time-based guard that prevents repeated actions in the same direction too quickly.
- Fill-gated
- The rule that ledger, cooldown, and journal updates only happen after an order is confirmed as filled.
- Single-instance lock
- A guard that ensures only one BearBreaker process is active at a time.
- Flatten
- A control directive that liquidates the entire position immediately.
